Paula Solimano

Paula Solimano is a Chilean American curator and art historian living between Santiago de Chile and New York City. She holds an MA in Art History and Advanced Curatorial Certificate from Hunter College, CUNY, with the support of Queen Sofía Spanish Institute and the David and Estrellita B. Brodsky Family Foundation. Her work explores theories on belonging, affect, and community practices in contemporary art.

She has been a guest lecturer of Latin American art and contemporary curating at Universidad Finis Terrae and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and curator at Colección Ca.Sa. Recent curatorial projects include Homo Ludens: Arte y juego en Colección Ca.Sa (Parque Cultural de Valparaíso, Valparaíso), Johnny Aguirre: Secreto a voces (Ca.Sa 77, Santiago), and Cristián Salineros: Antes de esto no había límites, solo tiempo (D21 Proyectos de Arte, Santiago). She is currently co-editing the first academic text to theorize and historize contemporary artistic practices and culture from Chile in the English-speaking language, Dismantling the Nation-State: Notes on Contemporary Art and Culture in Chile, which will be published by Amherst College Press in 2023.

Se destacó como analista en una empresa consultora multinacional, que ofrece servicios a uno de los bancos más grandes en Estados Unidos.
